I am just starting my notes/outline, but I was looking at the questions and the last one I am having trouble coming up with an answer with. I would really like to hear what other people have to say about if Kant and Hegel are continuations of what we have read so far or have totally new thoughts?
I'm not sure where to go with this.

to answer kinaide's question i think that their theories are like hegel's flower metaphor. their completely new thoughts but they would not exist (most likely) if the previous theories didn't either. so i would say yes they are completely new ideas. because for it to be a continuation of other theories then we would still be studying the "fact" that the earth is teh center of teh universe. unless the question means a continuation of thoeries from Galileo, which i wukld say yes until Hegel, i think he really brought everythign teh previous philosophers were saying together into one all inclusive new idea. or at least that's my thought.

i'm still trying to understand exactly what Hegel is saying, is it that when the knowr and the known work against each other they make a new thing, which is knowledge, which causes action which makes history? so that would mean his sayign that history is the courthouse of nature/(existance?) which means that we as people with knowledge do certain things in our lives and this creates a reaction in nature/existence/life and that is history. which connects history and science together completely.javascript:emoticon('Shocked')

i'm sorry to only talk about hegel but he's been on my mind constantly. i'll wirte somthing on kant when i come up with something
