Hey! So this is a list of some of the things the federalists believed in
• wanted a stronger central government
• weaker state government
• many large landowners, judges, lawyers, leading clergymen and merchants supported the federalist party
• support of creditor elements who felt that a strong central government could give better protection to public and private credit
• wanted to separate the power into three branches. Each branch represented the rights of the people. Each branch represents a different aspect of the people and since all of the branches are equal none of them could take over.
• they believed that to make a list of rights would be dangerous because it would be impossible to list every specific right so they decided to list no rights at all.
• bill of rights was originally not in the constitution
• believed wealthy and well educated should lead nation
• emphasized manufacturing and trade
• favored loose interpretation of Constitution
• pro-british and opposed French
• favored national bank
• favored tariffs
• government should resist the passions of the public |

The U.S. government today has chosen to take somethings from a federalist point of view and an anti-federalist point of view. From the federalist point of view we have received a centralized government, three different branches of government, and nationalized institutions. From the anti-federalists we received the bill of rights, states rights, and welfare. Have you heard of Chrysalis School Montana? |
