Here are the sentences I wrote during the discussion:
Kant
Kant is very important to the field of history because of his recognition of freewill, mortality, a priori knowledge, and lack of mention of a higher power.
Hegel
Hegel is very important in the field of science because of his focus on evolution, dialectic method, and recognition of constant change. |

Kant was important to history because he created a way to analyze human behavior through a priori knowledge, similar to reasoning in science.
Hegel was important to science because of his understanding of change through the dialectic method. |

I really liked what Anna said during the discussion about the importance of Kant's intro of a priori and that he applys it the way one would to science, to history.
I also wanted to give a shout out to what Emily D. brought up in the discussion, she blew my minds when she asked if discovery still exists because nothings real until we know it. Unfortunately we couldn't talk more about this because of time.
Hegel is important because of his attention on human progress and more scientific way of looking at things. |

Hegel is important to science because his dialectic method gives a new perspective on empirical data.
Kant is important to history because his powerful connection between man and nature changed the way we perceive fate and the human condition.
also, i saw a really cute picture of a little boy with a toga on and a long beard attached to his chin...the caption read "aristoddler." i tried to find the picture online but i couldn't. that's it. |

So this is a little after the fact, but heres my sentences:
Hegel's views of change and reality put a new structure to science and expirementation and gave a new role to the observer.
Kants a priori and his bold statments about free will allowed historians to see different patterns and better predict the future. |

Kant is important to history because his notion of a priori morality helps to explain historical progress.
Hegel is important to science because of the structure he applies to history. |
