Comitia Centuriata 509 BCE Made up of all patricians, the comitia centuriata was a committee, organized by class/century that voted on all the laws created by the senate and elected the consuls. The comitia centuriata was an important part of ancient roman government because they influenced most the other government positions and doings. i.e. they elected the consuls and passed laws written by congress.
Patricians 509 BCE The Patricians were the aristocratic Romans. They/their families started with the most land and therefore they have a lot of power. Patrician-ism runs in the family, and can only be lost if a member of the family becomes a slave. Prior to 471 BCE, patricians were the only ones who could hold government positions. All of the patricians make up the Comitia Centuriata and are organized by class/century within.
Census 509 BCE a survey of the population, conducted by the censors Having a census allowed the public access to information about peoples wealth and status, which allowed for the sorting of the Patricians into centuries for the Comitia Centuriata.

The overthrowing of the Etruscan kings 509 BCE When Tarquin, the son of the 12th king of Rome, raped ideal roman woman Lucretia, her husband Brutis lead the overthrowing of the Etruscan kings and the start of the Roman republic. The overthrowing of the Etruscan kings lead to the start of a new government, the Roman Republic, which was a more democratic form of rulership that discouraged kingship.
